Art Nouveau Button Earrings On Beaded Hoops With Gem Drops

We make these beaded hoops in our studio to go with our beautiful buttons. There’s a hinged catch on the back that snaps over the post.

The buttons slide off. Each button comes with a little open loop hidden behind the center bottom that can be used to hang “Gem Drops” - shown below. Button diameter: 17mm. Total length of earring with hoop: 42mm or 1 5/8" (Priced without gemdrops.)

The story of the Art Nouveau Button....My Grandmother had a button box I used to play in. It was the custom to cut off all buttons from clothes before they were sent to the rag bin. Good thing, because buttons were tiny works of art that are now valuable collectables. When I started making jewelry in my early 20's, I found these buttons again and realized what a gorgeous example of the Art Nouveau style they are! Over 100 years old, they are still a stunning design. I molded one, cast a pair in gold, and threaded them onto hoops. The perfect earring. Later came the pendant, gemstone drops, and bracelet.
